During these 4 paddling days we aim to circumnavigate the amazingly beautiful islands of Paxos and Antipaxos. The trip is in the form of 4 different day-tours, lunching from different venues.
Situated south of the island of Corfu, these two tiny islands comprise a breathtaking sea kayak playground and destination in the Ionian Sea. Crystal clear waters, picturesque villages and an absolutely stunning coastline are apt to compose one of the most exciting paddling experiences of your life.
This sea kayaking trip is planned in order to be an easy journey for everyone with none to little paddling experience, in the usual weather conditions.
Some sea kayak handling experience is welcome.
During these days we will enjoy 5 overnights in beautiful apartments at or near Gaios.
- Day_1, Meeting day:
We meet at the apartments in Gaios where our first night’s accommodation is arranged (details are sent in due time after your booking confirmation). We set our meeting for early evening in order to have time to know each other within the team and discuss, prepare, plan and brief for our sea kayaking days ahead!
Please note that the following schedule is an indicative one. During the 4 paddling days we are aiming to plan our day-trips so we can complete a circumnavigation in the four days with the best conditions possible for each stretch.
- Day_2, Mongonisi-Gaios-Mongonisi:
After having packed and prepared our kayaks, we launch from Mongonisi to follow the coastline north. We enjoy swimming, fruits and our lunch on beautiful beaches along the way. We visit the island of Ag. Nikolaos and the Venetian castle. After our exploration near Gaios we head to Mongonisi.
- Day_3, Gaios-Lakka-Gaios:
The second day of our sea kayaking adventure at Paxos starts from Gaios port. We head north to explore the charming east-facing coastline of the island and the villages of Longos and Lakka at the north. Once again, some great swimming, snorkeling as well as snack and lunch breaks opportunities are waiting for us along the coast! The journey is completed with our return to Gaios.
- Day_4, Hiking on the island’s mainland!
Paxos is a place worth being explored from both the land and sea! We take advantage of the island’s beautiful hiking opportunities to …use our legs and explore some of the place’s cultural as well as natural history.
- Day_5, West coast of Paxos:
We launch from near Lakka village and we head south to paddle some impressive coastal features; massive cliffs of limestone, through and into caves and arches as well as enjoy swimming, lunch stops and breaks for the day in hard to access beaches. We complete this breathtaking sea kayaking day with our arrival at Mongonisi at the south of the island.
- Day_6, Antipaxos circumnavigation:
Today’s sea kayaking plan is to explore Antipaxos island. As we approach the island, its breathtaking beauty reveals a unique palette of morning light colors and contrast reflected on its wild coastline. Quiet beaches, as well as an unspoiled landscape is unfolding during the day. After our exploration and scheduled breaks we start the short crossing back to Paxos, where we launched from in the morning.
- Day_7, Check out and Departure:
