Kefalos, Ambracian Gulf

Located in the southeast quarter of the Ambracian Gulf, this one-day sea kayaking trip to the Kefalos remote isle is full of the gulf’s ecosystem’s wildlife beauty.

Sea turtles, dolphins and a great variety of rare bird species are going to keep us company during this sea kayaking trip.






Our one-day sea kayaking trips are available for all levels of experience in sea kayaking.

In terms of difficulty, sea state always plays a critical role as to how difficult a trip could be, so we will help you through the best option given the conditions for each time.

In terms of distance and how committing the coastline is, this sea kayaking day trip at Kefalos isle, in the Ambracian Gulf, could be characterized as rather demanding, while the paddling distance is of approximately 9 Nm.

Odysea’s sea kayaking day-trips do not include accommodation.

Kefalos remote isle is located in the Southeast quarter of Ambracian Gulf. Crossing to Kefalos isle is what we do during this sea kayak journey.

On our way there we explore parts of the islets near Koronisia and we expect to see some of the gulf’s ecosystem’s wildlife. Thousands of different birds nest around and live in the Ambracian Gulf’s  ecosystem. Sea turtles and dolphins are likely to be seen as well during a day’s paddle.

We opt for two breaks on the way enjoying fruits and top quality Greek products for our lunch and we finish our sea kayaking day back in Koronisia island. When a night paddle is the case, grilled local fish is included.

During this sea kayaking trip, you shall need:

  • Swimming suit
  • Hat
  • Sun glasses
  • UV protection cream
  • Sea shoes / sandals
  • Water (1,5ltr is enough)
  • Towel(s)
  • Personal valuables / papers (these can be stored in a dry bag and hatch in the kayak)
  • Personal medication (if needed)

For a night paddle, also bring:

  • Head torch
  • Dry clothes
