Paxos & Antipaxos

During the 4 days of this sea kayaking trip, we circumnavigate the amazingly beautiful islands of Paxos and Antipaxos. Situated south of the island of Corfu, these two tiny islands comprise a unique sea kayak playground and destination in the Ionian Sea. Crystal clear waters, picturesque villages and an absolutely stunning coastline are apt to compose one of the most exciting experiences of your life.

This sea kayaking trip is planned in order to be an easy journey for everyone with none to little paddling experience, in the usual weather conditions.

A bit of sea kayaking experience, though, as well as some camping experience would be appreciated!

During the trip we will enjoy overnights in beautiful apartments, as well as camping according to our planning ( 2 nights wild camping / 3 nights’ accommodation including the meeting/ arrival and the last days).

When wild camping, we cook for our dinner for one night and visit a beautiful tavern on the second one and when the accommodation is arranged, we choose excellent local tavernas!

  • Meeting day:

We meet at the apartments in Gaios where our first night’s accommodation is arranged (details are sent following your booking confirmation). We set our meeting for early evening in order to have time to know each other within the team and discuss, prepare, plan and brief for our sea kayaking trip the following days!

  • Day 1: Gaios-Lakka village (paddling distance approximately 5 Nm):

After having packed and prepared our kayaks, we launch from Gaios to follow the coastline north. We enjoy lots of swimming, fruits and our lunch on beautiful beaches on the way. Our sea kayaking experience continues in Longos, an unspoilt, beautiful village where we have plenty of time to enjoy a coffee and a stroll. We arrive at Lakka later in the day were we settle in our apartments for the night, as well as take the opportunity to enjoy Greece’s gastronomic wealth: A visit to the great local tavernas will offer an exceptional culinary experience.

  • Day 2: Lakka-Voutoumi (Antipaxi) (paddling distance app. 9 Nm):

The second day of our sea kayaking trip is dedicated to the amazingly beautiful west coast of Paxi island. We launch from Lakka village and we head to paddle under massive cliffs of limestone, through and into caves and arches as well as enjoy swimming, lunch stops and breaks for the day in secluded beaches. To complete this relatively longer day, we cross to Antipaxi island, known as one of the most exotic islands in Greece, and reach the beaches near Voutoumi, where we spend the night wild camping.

  • Day 3: Voutoumi-Andipaxι-Voutoumi (paddling distance app. 8 Nm):

Today’s sea kayaking plan is to explore Antipaxi island. As we follow the wild coastline, its breathtaking beauty reveals quiet beaches, as well as unspoilt nature, until we finish our day back in Voutoumi for another overnight on the island. In the evening we can enjoy a walk in the village and have a taste of the unpretentious beauty of old times.

  • Day 4: Voutoumi-Gaios (Paxi) (paddling distance app. 5 Nm):

We pack our sea kayaks at Voutoumi in the morning and we cross to Paxi island to explore the last stretches of this amazing part of Greece’s coastline. On our way, we find Mongonisi and Agia Marina, two picturesque places of Paxi. Later in the day, we enjoy swimming and lunch at the beautiful east beaches of the island and we visit the Enetian castle of Agios Nikolaos. We finish our last sea-kayaking-experience day of this trip by enjoying a drink at one of the local cafés.
